VDJ2017- Another year, another Vodacom Durban July done!
My diary started quite early at the Hilton Durban this year- getting my hair and makeup done for VDJ2017 was a top priority. My dress was customised according to a Berta bridal creation that featured a cape, which seemed fitting to the #ColourOfMagic theme this year. I wore a headpiece for the first time in my life and I was terrified of tripping over the cape so I wore ballet pumps that were embellished with red lace trimmings that matched my ensemble. The look was tied together with a string of pearls, pearl stud earrings and a matching red clutch from Forever New.
Watching the fashion events and competitions earlier on, it was breathtaking knowing that there is such phenomenal talent in the hands and minds of South African fashion designers.
The interiors of the marquees at the VDJ2017 were amazing and the setup of the entire event itself was striking. We had the opportunity to catch up with a lot of people, celebrities and fellow Durbanites alike.
Here is Queen Regnant’s VDJ2017 diary in pictures, because we all know that a picture says a thousand words, and I could go on and on writing about my fabulous day, but that would be boring, so there! We had an awesome time tent-hopping (thanks to Gold Circle, #OpulentExperience and #SVR) and an even more fun time betting and enjoying the races.
The Durban July is always a crazy busy day and it often passes by in a whirlwind of admiring all the beautiful outfits and race day duties for me but it’s something I’m starting to look forward to every year. Counting down to 2018!
